DITA VON TEESE BY PEROU
Yesterday we had one of my favourite photographers here… the marvellous Perou, shooting a story for British Grazia on writers Jake Arnott and Stephanie Theobald. The story should be published in a couple of weeks (around the 5th of May), so go buy!! Perou has kindly agreed to exhibit some of his work here at 40 WiNKS later this year, so keep reading.

MOTHER OF PEARL FLOORING FROM STEVE CHARLES
I love flooring… one of the best suppliers of the strange, rare and wonderful is London-based Steve Charles. Check out this amazing mother of pearl finish suitable for low traffic areas such as bathrooms! Prices start at around £1500 per square metre.

Gwyneth Paltrow is clearing her closet and you have the opportunity to get your hands on some fantastic pieces… all benefiting the Robin Hood Foundation (charity providing support to homeless and battling against poverty in NYC)
Check out her GOOP ebay store Find items from designers such as: Balenciaga, Burberry, Michael Kors, Helmut Lang and Marni, Prada and Chanel. My question is… if it’s benefiting a charity can we make our purchases tax write offs??
Happy Shopping!

David had luminous chandelier ‘couturier’ Eva Menz around for a drink last night. Eva is an established star in the glittering world of bespoke (custom for my American readers) lighting, creating often innovative and breathtaking pieces in a range of unusual materials such as origami, pearl and even ice!!! Pieces range from £5,000 to £100,000. Eva has an outstanding portfolio that you must check out but here I picked my favorites to share.

Brian Reyes
I couldn’t resist! Thanks to this week’s issue of Drapers, I found OXYGEN in central London! The shop carries collections from about 20 US designers and other exclusive lines from all over. Two of my favorites are Brian Reyes (pictured above) and Doo.Ri (pictured below). It feels like shopping in NYC so I suggest giving it a look next time you’re shopping in the Oxford Street area. Find it at 38 Eastcastle Street W1.

UNUSUALLY INTOXICATING...
Bompas and Parr specialise in creating strange and spectacular culinary events…. Their most ambitious project yet is “Alcoholic Architecture’, which takes place later this month in London. Not recommended for those of you with a serious drink problem, the show allows you to experience what it is like to be inside a giant cocktail, soaking up gin and tonic mist and rubbing shoulders with giant limes!! Refreshingly different, so check it out…

SPRING/SUMMER 09 COLLECTION
Hungarian born fashion designer, Alexandra Faro, moved to London in 2004. After studying at the London College of Fashion she bravely decided to launch her own label. Alexandra popped over for a drink the other night to tell me about her new A/W collection, which all sounds rather fab and wonderful, but still very hush hush!!… Here in the UK, her designs are stocked exclusively by super cool ‘127 Brick Lane’, alongside the likes of Comme des Garcons and Maison Martin Margiela. Her previous collections there have all completely sold out, so if you are interested in getting something from her current S/S range, we would suggest you get down there sharpish!!

Tonight I am heading to Matter in North Greenwich to see the German electrohouse duo, Booka Shade! I’m so excited my friends from Texas and Florida will be joining me for what promises to be a great night of music and fun! Tomorrow I will let you know how it went and hopefully have a few pics with the muscians themselves:)

I am now a fan (and I’m sure you will be too) of Belgian architect Agnes Emery and her concept interiors company Emery & Cie. Emery offers a wide range of beautiful hand crafted products from wall finishes and fabrics to breathtaking glass tiles, lighting and accessories. Every piece in her collection is unique and bursting with color and a quirky style. There is a showroom in London by appointment only but you can check out her website at www.emeryetcie.com.

As a new girl in London, everyday is a new adventure. Last Sunday I visited the Columbia Road Flower Market for the first time… and of course, I LOVED IT! The scents, the people, the quirky shops… just fabulous. I plan to be a regular flower junkie from now on… but what to wear?! What do you think about my outfit for next week???

I fancy strolling through the market sporting this 🙂

SPANISH FASHION WITH REAL SEX APPEAL…
One of the hottest new stars on the Spanish fashion scene is Soledad Serna, whose label Manolita Watlin specialises in clothes for women who want something a bit different… we love her cool, funky, sophisticated look, and also love the fact that she is based in London!! We are hoping to persuade her to have a private viewing of her new collection at 40 WiNKS very soon, so if you are interested in attending, let us know…
