David Carter is an internationally celebrated interior designer whose work regularly features in the world’s most influential interiors magazines.
He works principally on high-end residential projects for a diverse mix of clients including Middle Eastern royalty, Captains of Industry and city professionals. The qualities that define a Carter interior are glamour, luxury and wit. He loves mixing old with new, and is equally adept at conjuring up the theatrical flamboyance of a Marie Antoinette-inspired boudoir as he is masterminding the muted machismo of a Bond-esque bachelor pad. David has been twice short-listed for the highly prestigious Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year Award in 2001 and 2007.
David also combines his love for interior design with a passion for fashion, and is an established dandy-esque figure on the London party circuit, modelling for magazines like L’Uomo Vogue, Sunday Times Style, Huge (Japan), and Italian GQ.

Comment by David May 6, 2009 @ 6:41 pmMost of the time I feel horribly insecure, and have to hide behind books, breakfast cereal packets, and anything else that comes to hand. Being called SPLENDID means a lot… such a lovely word, and makes the world seem like a gentler place.

Comment by David June 1, 2009 @ 8:40 amDavid’s work may be great, however David Carter from 40winks is highly unprofessional & rude who has a fear of people asking him questions about his business and it’s costings to the public and I would not have any dealings with him.
Comment by Julie February 25, 2010 @ 5:52 pmDavid,
It was a pleasure meeting you in your wonderful surroundings, 40winks is a truly magical place, the style is so sensuous it allows you to loose yourself into a different world. I look forward to comming to your next “TART” event.
