David had luminous chandelier ‘couturier’ Eva Menz around for a drink last night. Eva is an established star in the glittering world of bespoke (custom for my American readers) lighting, creating often innovative and breathtaking pieces in a range of unusual materials such as origami, pearl and even ice!!! Pieces range from £5,000 to £100,000. Eva has an outstanding portfolio that you must check out but here I picked my favorites to share.

Comment by Anna April 8, 2009 @ 12:06 pmStunning! and the “cascade lounge” is divine.
Comment by Lisa April 8, 2009 @ 9:55 pmYes… origami!! Check out her website for more weird and wonderful examples of her work. One of my personal favourites is the installation she did for a spa in Ireland, which was made up of 250 origami cranes all one metre wide…
Comment by David April 9, 2009 @ 12:28 pmEva has also very kindly agreed to loan 40 WiNKS one of her magnificent creations and it will be going on show here from the 16th of April!! We are all very excited…
Comment by David April 9, 2009 @ 5:07 pmWOW! She used 1400 origami lilies to create the last piece! Absolutely love the detail in all of her creations – and all unique designs with a completely different look. So clever. “Sapphire Rain” is beautiful.
